Jose and John are great at this AAMCO on Burnet! I was at another shop and they didn't follow the procedures when completing my transmission fluid flush. The overage of any fluid added should be checked and drained at a specified temperature. I lost trust in the other shop based on the way they dealt with me. I called Jose and he and John followed the procedures and removed the overage of fluid added by the other shop to make sure my transmission wasn't effected and were great hosts at their shop and never made me feel uncomfortable for wanting to make sure my car was taken care of properly. Also, they didn't charge me for helping me out. I will see them for my next transmission fluid flush, for sure!!!
Jose, and the crew were AWESOME!!! Not only did I have a same day turn around (thank y'all so much for the hard work!!). They were super personable, and very communicative with the work that was being done on my Lincoln. This was my Grandfather's car who was a mechanic, so I appreciated the thorough understanding, and explanation of what was wrong with my car.
😉 Thank y'all kindly for kickin' some serious labor into my baby, and getting me back on the road quickly!
This review is long over due. I have taken my vehicles elsewhere only for location convenience, but after my experience of faulty repairs from these shops, I realized it is worth driving the distance to AAMCO on Burnet Rd. in Austin.
Jose is friendly and does not try to sell me a repair
I don’t need. He keeps me posted when a delay occurs, and provides information regarding my questions. He doesn’t rush me into making a decision immediately like other shops.
Also, they honor their warranty work, and don’t mislead you to purchase a non related repair.
I do have my favorite mechanics at AAMCO. I use John for all my repairs on my 1993 Cutlass Oldsmobile, and 2005 Chevy Impala.
When it comes to transmission work I use Rick.
I could go on and on with positive comments. If you are tired of dealing with over priced and faulty repairs, my suggestion is give them a try.

AAMCO is the only place I will take my vehicle. Jose is awesome; always explains what needs to be fixed and the work is done in no time at all. It's never good when your car breaks down or is not running properly, it can be a huge expense, but the financing is super helpful when needed. I Chose this AAMCO location based on the Google reviews. I consider myself a "diy" type of guy, but doing vehicle maint. gets tougher as vehicles become more complicated; there was no way I would be able to service the automatic trans. on my 2010, 5.7L, 4x4, Tundra. Jose, the store manager provided honest, and friendly service. Jose runs a "squared up" shop, and I felt comfortable soon as I walked thru the door. The technician did an outstanding job; My truck is shifting perfectly. Already decided I am going back to get the tranfercase, differentials, and coolant serviced at this location. This will be my new go to for mechanical needs.

Excellent customer service at a great price. Got a quote for $3500 for work at a shop in Pflugerville. Jose at Aamco on Burnet quoted me $2450 for the same job. Saved me over $1000!! And, all work was done in house, not outsourced like some shops do. I will continue to bring my vehicles to Aamco on Burnet Road! Three vehicles, mine, my wife's, my daughters, four visits...Perfection every time.

I spoke with Jose at this location and I had an amazing experience. I went with AAMCO to get a second opinion on my vehicle and Jose was very professional, straight- forward and helpful. He genuinely wants to serve the customer and allows you to feel comfortable to make your own decision. Even though I ended up having the dealership working on my vehicle (due to a warranty promise) Jose was very kind and helpful with me when I took my service somewhere else, which says a lot.
Aamco was extremely helpful. Jose is a man with integrity. They got us in right away, replaced the parts that were damaged on our car and were super transparent and explanatory the entire time.

This place is great for all types of repair, especially for their free A/C check and free courtesy inspection, they have complimentary coffee in the lobby and they have always fixed my car on the first visit. It's nice knowing what else may be wrong with my car as a courtesy of theirs without having to pay them for the vehicle check up too. I'll keep coming back!!!
My transmission went out. Towed it to SunAuto. Stayed 2 days. Sun wouldn't work with my extended warranty through Route 66 because they wanted to put in a used transmission. Transferred to Pep Boys. They kept the car for 4 days and said they could never reach the company and they didn't want to put in the used transmission. Transferred it to AAMCO. They negotiated with my insurance company, convinced them to put in a remanufactured transmission and had it all done in 4 days.

Offered me a free oil change to do this review. I traded in my car for a new one and have free oil changes for 8 years. I don't need the oil change, but I feel strongly these guys took care of me and deserve a great review!!
Love, love, love this place!! Jose is amazing! Great technicians! I've been here a couple of times over the past 8 months and every single time has been point. Excellent service, excellent customer service. I got the run around from another shop that my warranty (at the time) only honored. Changed warranty, changed shops.....best choice ever!!
The only place in town I trust with my pride and joy. I have been restoring my Blazer for two years and they do just the best work ever. They treat my truck like it was their own and stand behind their work. I recommend them to anyone that needs any kind of work done.

Transmission went out on my food truck. Aamco had it rebuilt in 5 days, didn't have any down time from catering. It's been 5 years still runs great. Thanks guys.
I took my previous sequoia here. I felt like they did only the necessary repairs and Jose even spoke to my father on the phone about what was going on and why they were doing said repairs. Being a women going to a mechanic can be a nightmare, so glad to find an honest mechanic in the big city. Continue to take my newer car here and order parts through them for miscellaneous repairs (can the construction in Austin be over already?). Parts usually are in the next day. So also convenient for people who rely on their cars heavily.

Cost. I hate feeling like mechanics are taking advantage of me because I'm a lady and don't have knowledge of cars. I did not feel that way at Aamco. Jose in the front office treated me with kindness and respect and for that he has gained a loyal customer in me! Highly recommend this shop

This email is different than what you have on file, but I wanted to get this out as soon as I could. After having axles replaced, that go into the transmission, at another facility, on Superbowl Sunday, one fell out and I was stuck and blocking traffic at an intersection. The car would not move at all. When the tow company put my car on his truck all the transmission fluid drained out. I had no idea what or why, but thought for sure my transmission was dead. Once I got my car to Jose at AAMCO he assured me they would be able to diagnose the problem and get me back on the road as soon as possible. And they did. First Jose is very personable and kind. He is very knowledgeable about the transmissions and the whole engine of the car. And he has been there for a very long time, which says a lot about the company he works for. So he put me at ease about what "could" be wrong, and reassured me that they would fix my problem, he was absolutely right. They diagnosed the problem, fixed the axle that had come out, replaced all the transmission fluid. He had my car back to me fixed in a matter of hours. I would highly recommend this AAMCO to everyone that is needing any kind of transmission help. The work they do is excellent and the customer service you get from Jose is over the top.
